Career Readiness Series
Career Conversations: Over the course of a semester, students identify their field of interest and are linked to a professional in that field. Students prepare questions, present their resume and their interests to the professional expert, and engage in conversation to gain real-world insights, ask thoughtful questions, and receive personal feedback. This experience helps students build confidence, expand their professional network, and better understand the skills, pathways, and expectations associated with their chosen career field.
Employability Skills, Resume Writing, Mock Interviews: In a series or stand-alone workshop, the Trinity Together team works with students on identifying their own strengths and interpersonal skills, developing those further, and articulating them for career and college success through email, cover letter, and resume writing. In a culminating activity, students can choose to engage in a Mock Interview with a panel of local professionals, where they can practice their interview skills and receive feedback. This series works to prepare students for success in scholarships, college and career pursuits.
Industry Workforce Panels: This community-based effort brings a panel of professional industry experts together to share their journey to their career, the skills needed to succeed and their insight into securing employment. Students have the opportunity to ask questions, network and are provided with local work-based learning, volunteer or employment opportunities in the targeted industry.
Pathway Mapping: Learners identify their industry of interest and are guided through various pathway options to gain their desired employment. Trinity Together associates will link learners to local, regional or national options and map out possible pathways to reach the learners’ desired goals. “Learners” is a term that we have adopted for youth who are starting out their employment journey with hands-on work experience.
